We are happy to announce that we have completed a major rebranding of our historic courthouse building. The rebranding was prompted by wanting to use the courthouse in Downtown Durand as more than a museum and confusion over different name variations.
The courthouse building was the gathering place and center of action for Pepin County for over 100 years. After moving its operations to a new building, the Pepin County Historical Society began using the building in 1985. Since then, we have preserved and shared the building and Pepin County’s history with the public. With the help of local branding experts from Studio MLM the former Old Courthouse Museum and Jail is now the Pepin County Heritage Center, with a new logo and website.
“Our goal is to make the courthouse more than a museum. We want the Pepin County Heritage Center to be a gathering place for the community like it was for over 100 years,” said Matthew Sam, President of the Pepin County Historical Society. “We want to share our historic building with the community, especially our local schools.”
